OLIVO FAMILY TOGETHER WITH POPE FRANCESCO
Wednesday 17 September, during the General Audience in the Vatican, Olivo family delivered a unique custom rug to His Holiness Pope.
The meaning of the handwork’s creation to devote to the
Reverend Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Bishop of Rome and Pope of the Christian Church, wants to express the choral gratitude of Olivo Family, for the innovative capacity introduced by Pope Francesco to a year and a half from the entrance to the Papal Throne.
Moreover, the choose of Francesco name – as the co-proprietor name Francesco Olivo - made immediately nourish feelings of respect and sympathy for the Holy Father.
Do not remain indifferent in front of the welcoming and exemplary figure of the Pope, who looks to the essential values and encourages all to improve. The purpose which
the family Olivo had in mind to achieve for the Holy Father was welcomed gladly by the Holy See and Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in San Pietro Square, has been crowned this circumstance that we are honored to share with you.
DESIGN
A careful work has lead to the choice of the optimal size of the carpet and the perfect selection of 11 colors of yarn, as evidenced by the pictures in detail. The decoration was executed on one level, thickness 11 mm, 4 kg of weight per square meter. Knotting in 110 lines. A work in progress that has led to a scrupulous excellent final result.
REALIZATION
The handmade article has been produced by the Olivo Tappeti Indian Division OTID and executed entirely with linen, wool and silk fibers, hand-knotted with natural colors faithful to the original symbol in toto, with measure 3.5 mt x 2.5 mt, reproducing the official emblem of the Holy Father with the words “Miserando atque eligendo”. The artifact has been completed with our signature in the lower right corner.
